Hart Law

Hart Law is the website for Attorney Patrick Hart from Akron, Ohio. He was looking for a simple web presence. I was able to work with him and his secretary on the requirements and create a simple page for him to get him started. This is a mobile first, responsive web page that will work across all devices, ensuring that no matter what device people use to find his site it will look professional and they will be able to contact him easily.

Wii Have a Problem

Wii Have a Problem

Wii Have a Problem was a site that documented the various injuries people were sustaining during the initial release of the Nintendo Wii. Myself and the site were featured in the New York Post, Washington Post, Boston Globe, New York Times, and various other publications. We were interviewed by various major US and European radio shows. I was even featured on VH1’s Best Week Ever as well as interviewed on the Today Show.

This website was a spur of the moment idea that came about before WordPress or other CMS system were as robust as they are today. To combat this I wrote an entire CMS system over the course of two days, complete with page and query caching and a schedule post system. The caching systems were designed shortly after initial release at which time we were quickly picked up by Yahoo and featured on the homepage of Yahoo.com. This crashed the server immediately as I did not anticipate that much traffic. After the site was reprogrammed in one night it was able to handle its peak traffic of 3.5 million hits per day.

Gamegossip

Gamegossip is a community of gamers that has been around since the year 2000. It boasts a community of over 30,000 users from all over the globe that discuss current gaming topics and trends. The latest project with this site was the revamp of the homepage. We wanted to give the community an even easier way to keep up with what was going on in the gaming industry. We gathered up news feeds from top sites around the Internet. I then build the engine and interface you see there now. This is one of the largest archives of gaming news stories on the Internet. The custom engine integrates with the forum and allows users to customize a tab and select which sites they would prefer to have on the first tab. It also tracks activity of the links as users browse through the site. We look forward to the next stages of this application.

Pirate Cove

Pirate Cove

Pirate Cove was a testing ground for a group of friends and still continues to be that to this day. It has been a fun site to have on the side to make an occasional blog post or test out creating a new plug-in, application or even some new designs.
